The Cult - Palladium, Jun 23/2012
Hollywood, California, Palladium
Opening Bands: Icarus Line, Against Me
A Cult on the Sunset Strip has a whole 'nother vibe. The Hollywood Palladium's massive dance floor serves as the best spots in the house, surrounded by a nearly 360-degree balcony. Against Me! blasted through an excellent set of songs, a perfect warmup act for The Cult.

The venue was packed by the time the band hit the stage with "Lil' Devil." Lots of energy from Ian, who's right at home in L.A. The new songs stood out - I really dig "Honey From A Knife," "The Wolf," and "Lucifer." I wish they'd done "Elemental Light" from the new album, as well.

All the classics ripped - "Sanctuary," "Fire Woman," "Spiritwalker," "Rise." Billy Duffy's guitar tone should be the envy of every guitarist! Tempesta does all the songs powerful justice.

Would've enjoyed some variation in the setlist, especially for the last night of the tour, but The Cult doesn't disappoint.
