The Cult - Trusts Stadium, May 3/2010
Auckland, New Zealand, Trusts Stadium
Opening Band: Drab Doo Riffs
We went along to the concert at the Trust Stadium in Auckland New Zealand 03/05/2010 it was great.

Billy Duffy and fellow musicians were excellent, Ian was good, but at times appeared to struggle with the sound system, perhaps.

For a band with mid eighties origins they are still going well, given the ages and that of the majority of the audience, this would in my opinion allow for certain obvious changes in the look and sound of the band.

Although I would expect a professional attitude out of respect for the fans and band Ian would keep himself in good form both vocally and physically.

Some comments were made in NZ in regards to Ians voice and shape, although I believe realistically the band and Ian delivered the music and themselves adequately.

In regards to Stew Mckinlay's message, I agree in the fact, that 15 years is way to long to wait for the excellent sounds of The Cult to vist our New Zealand and Australian shores. The band and Ian have so much more in them to give a good number of the listening public in regards to concerts and hopefully more fresh material whatever that maybe and consists of.

Ian's voice is distinctive and original and the bands performance as a whole is a great representation of rock music in their very special way of delivering it.

Come on Guys I sincerely hope that your management gets their act together in getting your sounds and hopefully more concerts to us. Please don't wait so long for the next visit, get your marketing people to get better notice of your intention to tour and I promise the New Zealand fans will turn up in the droves. Im in my forties and I do love my rock music (when it is good) and to be honest your appeal these days is to a very large age base. No matter the age your appeal is not just to the young girls (or not so young) but to a mix of die hard rock fans, the well heeled and intelligent, so please don't leave it so long to come back, I for one did not even know your band was touring until a week before, that is how quite the promotion was. Rev it up, theres plenty of us who appreciate the fine sounds of the Cult.

Kind regards Leanne , a New Zealand fan (as is my husband)
