The Cult - Lisbon Coliseum, Sep 25/2009
Lisbon, Portugal, Lisbon Coliseum
Me and my wife arrived at 17H in Lisbon Coliseum. In the street, i met Billy Duffy. He was in a hurry, so we talk a little bit "how are you"...

There was nobody in the building, so we decided to go out and find some food and beer, of course. We find Billy again in the street, carring a bag of food into the building. Funny to see him walking in the street. Some people recognised him, but he stood away, without talking, just smilled.

19H, there was a lot of people getting ready to get in, but doors were opened at 20. At this time we already knew that there was no suport band, and the Cult should be on stage at 21:30H (9:30 PM).

The weather was very good, but very hot, 30 degrees.

As usual, i was one of the first to get in, so we took our place in the 1st row, between Ian and Billy. We met some good people and talked a lot about the band. What a surprise to see people about 50 / 60 years old, and a lot of teenagers. Born Into This album gave a lot of talk. I didn't know everybody here loves this album so much. It's really very popular, even withiout any kind of publicity or air play.

No press was alowed to take pictures, and security guys advides about using cameras. They told us that the band don't alow anyone to take pictures.

At 21:45 (9:45PM) the band hit the stage starting with Nirvana. Ian was wearing a black lather jacket, without bandanas, wearing black lather gloves, some hairface, and seems he is in a good shape and he surely did lost some weight. Billy dressing dark, with a lather jacket as well...

The sound was fantastic, the house was full... More that 5000 people singing Nirvana, jumping, screeming. Ian's voice was so loud and clear, but we barely herad him, because of the crowd noise.

Big Neon Glitter next, and Wyse and Tempesta proved they are perfect with the band. It looks like they recorded the Love album.

Love was so intense. That obscure number surprised me again, people sang it like theres no tomorow.

BWSM: a calm down moment, time of reflection. At this point, we almost couldn't see the videos , because of the smoke and light. Astbury managed, and it turned clear to see.

Everything was so good. Billy was woried about the sound, but it was more then perfect.

Very professional, the band played Rain. Was delirious. All the people claping, no one seating down in the balconies. Time to time, The musicans shoed to be surprised. Sometimes Ian stoped to sing, to hear us. Billy duffy moved close to Cris Wyse to do backing vocals. No "Wake up" calls, no needed.

Phoenix was the usual... Fantastic. Small intro of BD, wut the song works so good.

Holowman was another new song in Portugal! Someone was asking me if the song is really from love album... they did't knew that one (or remember) and is fresh like an actual song!

Revolution was another highlight of the setlist. People love that song. One of the best versions of the song.

She Sells Sanctuary burned down the house. Is the most popular song here, it was insane. Ian told us that it was so hot, "it's like a sauna". It was. I was all wet.

Black Angel was so good to see. Can't belive they done it right in front of me. Billy Duffy show!!! Ian hugged Billy Duffy in the solo.

After a few minutes break, They come back with Electric Ocean. But the crowd gone very wild in Wildflower! They put a microfone to Billy Duffy to backing vocals.

Sun King was so nice to see. The firs time i saw the song performed live. It's so powerfull. So intense. When Billy started the intro with his Les Paul, i've chilled. Then exploded.

Great live version of Rise. Better then RTW tour.

Great surprise: DLR... everyone was singing it. "HEY HEY HEY" was magic!

Till the end of the show, the security guys have some work to do: Fire Woman was brutal. Billy was mad about the sound, he kicked one panel in front of him, almost down to the stage. Ian sang it with "I wanna take you higher" Intro

LRM was superb. Even know that the show is ending, i spent all of my weak energy.

After that, the band left the stage- Ian presented the band: "Billy Duffy... Who let the dog out!... Bateria, John Tempesta... Who let the dog out... Bass guitar Chris Wyse, Who let the dog out?!" Crhis Wise presented Ian Astbury, and the band left the stage..

10 minutes after, everyone was asking for something more, screaming: CULT CULT CULT... we were no tiered... we could get more 2 hours of Cult Music.

Ian sent some tamborines to the crowd, i did't catch anyone. BD girlfriend was between the security net and the stage, she filmed a lot (not only Billy ) and helped Ian to get the tamborines into the crowd.

One think i didn't liked, was the distance beten us and the stage. more then 2 meters. Ian tried to come close to us, but it was so dark, could be dangerous.

Ian And Billy locked at us many times during the show, always smilling. My wife made some videos, i toked pictures with cellphone. No good quataty, but the videos are nice. Ian and Billy noticed we were taking images, adn posed for us. Very nice.

I saw a merchandising store packed of crazy people, and decided to take a picture and move on. Prety sure that were no Dogtags avaiable.

There are a new T shirt: Brown/red color, with the Indian image of SSS Single, in yelow in the front. In the back, the name of the european cities who are so lucky to have the Love Live Tour.

Amazing Experience. I wish i could manage to get another show...

Outside, i found Wyse, Dimkich and Tempesta. We said "hi", and talked just for moments. No vip or guest passes, sure the boys were out to drink some beers in Hard Rock cafe, next to Coliseum.

That's it. Later i will post my videos and pics.
