After Gun had finished we had to wait 65 minutes before The Cult entered the stage. By then the hall was almost completely filled.
From start to finish it was a great concert, as we can expect from our lads. They were all in a good mood and Ian had definetely no vocal problems, as were mentioned on this website in some other reviews. The sound was excellent in this hall, in which I attended many concerts over the years, some of them with sound problems.
Only in the third song 'Honey From A Knife' Ian struggled a bit with his voice, but in all the other songs his singing and stage presence were fantastic.
The new songs were played as if they were playing them for years and most of the audience seemed to recognise the new songs. By the way, many British fans attended the gig. These were all positive British fans and they added to the atmosphere.
'Life > Death' was surprisingly announced by Ian as 'Life Is Greater Than Death' instead of the usual 'Bigger Than Death'.
In 'Wild Flower' he shouted 'Van Der Graaf Generator' during the break in the song. I didn't know he was a fan.
What's for sure is that The Cult really love being and performing in Amsterdam and they seem to give something extra. As a member of the audience you can feel this.
You don't need alcohol or drugs to get into the highest spirits, you only need The Cult. That's the lesson I learned.
