The Cult - Grand Theatre, Sep 2/2012
Quebec City, Quebec, Grand Theatre
Opening Band: Murder Of Crows, Glory Hound
Just saw you did not have a single review of the QUEBEC show, what a shame because, it was, by the way, so... .... amazing!!!

No matter how many we were, it does not matter, The Cult gave the performance of their lives, it was as if it was their last performance, it was so fucking amazing!

The songset was the same as the previous night in Montreal, which was pefect with perfect artistic touch (and I do not mean it as a computer 1.2.3 way... )! It was fluid and touching in every way.

I missed the MTL show for some unfortunated reason and I regret until this day!

A single strange thing happened, which I still do not have the answer to, during Spiriwalker, Mr. Duffy looked to his right (he was, when looking from the audience, on the right side of the stage), and was saying (without knowing exactly what he said...) something like... "come on, try it, let's do it, wtf are you doing you coward"... . Was he looking at his axeman "wingman" or technician? I don't know! Only he knows, but it was worth mentionning... Maybe someone can explain... Anyway, the song did not suffer in any way.

Previously, I thought this band was unreal and did not exist and was some sort of computer generated “something supernova”, but I saw them live for that magical night in Quebec city and they really exist, please do believe, words cannot express what a great musical night I had and they gave it all... and more! Billy Duffy is a guitar god and Ian Astbury can reach moon high notes with his powerful voice!

On the critical side... please, please, pretty please, do not wait (marketing wise) 25 years to come back to... anywhere!

Also, in some sad and hard way, when all was over, at the end of the show, I felt like I wanted more, music wise! Not in a disappointed way, but in a way which I did not ever wanted to end. I wished that night had lasted longer Cult music wise and never had ended, but it did...

The only drawback is that they did not play "Sun king", but I guess artists have to make difficult choices when they have such a strong reprtoire as The Cult has.

Merci beaucoup Ian, Billy! Vous ętes vraiment les "rois" soleil!
