The Cult - Train, Aug 4/2010
Aarhus, Denmark, Train
Show opener was Lil' Devil, first Cult song I ever heard, and it came with great attitude!

Ian and his voice are not 20 anymore, but it matters less, since the band as a whole plays better than ever. I saw them twice in the 90's, now they seem more relaxed at stage, and at the same time more focused and intense.

Disappointingly they play mostly old stuff. Perhaps most of the audience stopped in their tracks when the 80's ended, and only went there for a re? Well I find Beyond Good And Evil among Cult's very best, and I went there to rock, and I missed stuff like Bangkok Rain, Star, Universal You, War, Breathe, Speed Of Light, True Believers...

Wednesday 4th of August - 10 month after they last visited Denmark, The Cult went on stage in Train bar anf lounge in Aarhus, 45 min late.

800 people waiting for what was to be. Billy took the stage as the first. The rest of the band followed and last - The god of rock - came. Headband almost covering his eyes, a The Cult hoodie, picked up his tambourine and went staight into Lil' devil.

The crowd went beserk. Ian gained around 20 pounds or so since their last gig in Denmark, but as the Danish reviewer put it - Ian was cool as fuck!

The Band was tight and better than ever. Ian's voice was fantastic. The best I've ever heard him sing.

The crowd jumped, sang the best it could and it all ended with Ian handed me his tambourine! (waited 22 years for that)

The show was a bit short(1 hour 15 min) but very strong. Everman And Woman Is A Star was superb live and if thats the direction for the new album, we are all in for a treat! Maybe a new Sonic Temple?

So if you got the chance, go see them live- they are fucking awesome -still!!!!!!!!!!!
