Dublin, Ireland, Olympia
The Cult, it goes with out saying are one best bands in the world to see
live, I have seen them aroud 10 times all over Europe, but last night in
Dubin there was something missing.
They played there standard set which was very close to what they played the
last time they were in Dublin, but I felt it lacked passion. Ian in
particular looked like he was going through the motions, almost like when I
saw him in, The Doors.
Ian said the band were tired because they had just got a early morning
flight from Glasgow and it showed, not so much with Billy but from Ian.
You know maybe they are not as young as they used to be and maybe they
should have more days off in between gigs, after all I think Cult fans
deserve it.
They played the same songs as Manchester and Glasgow and for a band with
such great back catalogue they should be mixing it up more, maybe just one
or two songs would make all the difference.
On the bright side, Billy did not have any problems with his guiter, which
is a first for me seeing them. All the songs they played sounded great and
everybody from what I could see enjoyed themselves, then again it would be
hard not to at a Cult concert, but lets hope they can inject a bit more
passion into their upcoming concerts in Canada.
