Denver, Colorado, The Fillmore

Headlining, opening bands: The Clicks

Was at the Denver show the other night and just had a few words. First off, just wanted to say it was another good Cult experience and look forward to seeing them in San Francisco. I've been a fan of these guys since the early 90's and still amazed how hard they keep rockin. I do have to say, after seeing countless shows, that their set list remains repetitive. It's practically the same from one show to the next. I realize they are out promoting their new album but it would so awesome to hear some of those great 'ol songs that made me a fan to begin with. They have so many great songs in the bag of tricks to play at their live shows but never do. If I had just one message to pass on to the boys, besides playing longer than just your standard 1hr and 20 minutes, is to play some of those great tunes from the past. As much as I love "Sanctuary, Firewoman, LRM, and Rise," those weren't the songs that made me a fan. Songs like, "Bleeding Heart Graffiti, Flower in the Desert, River," are what made me a true fan. Am I the only one out here that would kill just to hear one of these songs. Once again I know the band is pushing the new album but I think they would be surprised at the response at live shows if they played at least one of these songs from my list. As I said, I will be at the SF show on Friday and I will be there amongst some true judgemental fans. I know Ian would want to put on spectacular show in SF with his past Doors moments. C'mon Ian and Billy give something to the true fan instead of the same set list every show. Keep rockin!
